I want to learn how to center myself, I want to learn how to meditate, but I don’t know where to start.
“Mediating” and “centering oneself” are words I use interchangeably it’s a practice of sitting with myself and turning off the lights so to speak. I sit in silence and I get to know myself a little better each day. We work on relationships with others, spouses, children, friends, co-workers. My question is, how often do you work on the relationship with yourself? Allowing your inner voice to flow through you and to be heard. Trust this silence, permit your essence to flow freely from within. Within us, we have all the answers to what we seek. Listen and feel your answers.
Sounds easy right? It can be or it can’t be, depending on your point of view.
If you are reading this, my guess is that you want it to flow and that you are stuck on the how-to or why. When we are in flow our positive energy is able to flow freely and the expanded feelings keep on expanding. It is positive energy or positive feelings we seek. We are conditioned to seek these feelings from external products that we hold with our hands or see with our eyes. Positive feelings or emotions are felt with our hearts and seen with our inner eyes. Therefore, if you are open to playing and exploring an inner place, I ask you to try this inner breath and work exercise. Perhaps a few times a day.
Positioning
Sitting still is easy, although to quiet our mind on the other hand can be challenging. Starting the process is a victory. Today let us celebrate starting, a small victory.
Sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes. Place your hands on your lap with your palms facing up, this is known as a receiving position. Close your eyes and let them flow to the top of your head, toward the center of your forehead. Where you focus your attention is where your energy flows. Keep them closed with the gaze toward your middle eye. If you are new to a mediative practice, I suggest a tool. I find Chakra Healing Crystals helpful in expanding the individual Chakra Center that I am working on expanding.

Crystals and Stones
Crystals and Stones held in the hands while sitting quietly while focusing on each individual one of the seven chakras is helpful. There are crystals and stones for each chakra is to assist with this expansion and alignment. Some suggestions in aiding with the balance of Chakra Center are one of the following healing crystals:
- Root Chakra- Smokey Quartz
- Sacral Chakra – Moonstone Quartz
- Solar Plexus – Citrine Quartz
- Heart Chakra – Rose Quartz
- Throat Chakra – Blue Agate Lace
- 3rd Eye Chakra – Amethyst Quartz
- Crown Chakra – Clear Quartz

Essential Oils
Additionally, Essential Oils can also assist in the desired Chakra Alignment or expansion of the Chakra system. Promoting the expansion of the positive energy flow. Similar to the Crystals and their healing properties in assisting with the chakra system alignment. Breathing in the hint of an essential oil stimulates the sense of smell and breathing into the Chakra Energy Center to help with this expansion.
Suggestions for the balance of Chakra Center are the following essential oils:
- Root Chakra: Patchouli or Bergamot
- Sacra Chakra: Niaouli, Ylang-Ylang, or Clary Sage
- Heart Chakra: Geranium Rose
- Throat Chakra: Lavender
- 3rd Eye Chakra: Eucalyptus, Rosemary or Clary Sage
- Crown Chakra: Palo Santo or Vetiver
Breathing in the essential oil and focusing on the individual chakra for expansiveness and alignment for each Chakra; aligning the Chakra System creates positive energy to flow throughout your day.

Soul Wipe
Soul Wipe is a meditative tool, intended to give you moments of expansiveness throughout the day. A natural antibacterial wipe with the essential oil and the coordinated healing crystal for each one of the seven chakras.
Wipe your hands, your yoga mat, yoga ball, workspace, your phone, keys, etc… with the natural hand sanitizing wipe, close your eyes, and for a few moments. Try this a few times throughout the day.
Breathing
Try this breathwork to start a practice. Each time you need to clean your hands. Breathe in, to a count of eight fill the belly like a balloon, hold for eight counts, breathe out for eight counts. Hold your breath for eight counts and repeat. Do this eight times. If your mind starts to wander that’s ok. Bring it back to the middle of the forehead and repeat. There are no goals here, this is a breathing exercise to help quiet the mind. A tool to practice in order to feel peaceful, quiet, expansive, with a sense of ease, that all is well in this very moment.
Mantras
At times I state a mantra out loud, to keep my mind from flowing away from me. I hold my center, and I may say one of the following:
- I am love
- I am at ease
- All is well
- I trust universe is unfolding for my highest good.
- I am worthy of all that is good.
- All is flowing as it should.
- I am open to receiving love, kindness, and abundance.
- I am love and kindness.
Even if you don’t believe these are true for you right now, be open to the idea that they are a possibility, and they can be true should you choose this possibility. Be open to receiving this light. This light allows the energy to flow without blocks. This flow is the sensation of positive energy that we hear so much about because it is flowing.
When there is a negative emotion hurt, anger, fear it becomes a dark ball landing in your vessel, therefore blocking the energy flow. This negative energy or block left to grow can cause unwanted occurrences in the Chakra system. As you sit in silence and breathe pay attention to where you “feel” negative energy.
Pay attention if you can feel which chakra system it lands closest to. Practice the breathwork that I started with 8 counts of 8 and breathe into the chakra. Send love to this space with words of “ I am love” or “I send love to myself” or one of the mantras stated above. Envision light as you say these words out loud when possible.
I say these out loud when I drive alone in my car or do housework. Mind you I’m not closing my eyes during these moments, but I like to state my mantras throughout my day to keep things moving in a positive flow.

The Chakra System
Our bodies are vessels of light, as we practice meditation and positive affirmations, we allow the light to flow through us so that grace can be felt. The negative energy is stuck balls in our vessel, light flowing through your vessel will release the negative energy balls and release them above or below, to no longer cling to the walls within your vessel. Energy flows from above as well as from below. A short description of where your Chakras are within your body and the energy, they store within them are as follows:
- Root chakra located at the base of your spine: Sense of security and stability.
- Sacral Chakra located just below your belly button, Sense of creativity, sexual energy, and emotions.
- Solar Plexus Chakra is located in your stomach, sense of self-esteem, and confidence.
- Heart Chakra located in the center of your chest, Sense of self-love, gratitude, and compassion for yourself.
- Throat Chakra is located in the center of your throat. Ability to speak your truth and know when to speak.
- Third Eye Chakra is located between your eyes on your forehead. Sense of inner knowing; ability to know what you know and trust this knowledge.
- Crown Chakra is located just at the top of your head. Sense of connection to the universe and healthy connection with others with a sense of ease.
The alignment and energy expansion of these seven chakras and the sense of ease that comes with this alignment are calming. This ease comes from within. Not from holding something from the outside three-dimensional world. The expansion of these energy centers and the alignment allow us to handle life’s adversities with ease and grace.
Soul Wipe natural hand sanitizing wipes are intended to create the practice of serene moments throughout the day. Using a natural antibacterial wipe to create moments of peace. May this practice become a habit that provides moments of positive energy for you, throughout your day.
I wish you peace.
